Well, some people want you to think of it as a gateway.  It's in the next valley and near industrial areas.  It's also where I tasted some terrific wine created by one of my school mates.... Tom Meadowcroft of Magito Wines

Sebastopol -- gateway to Sonoma
When you are driving north of San Francisco, one of the "gateways" to the area is called Petaluma, famous for the popularization of the incubator (take eggs from the chicken, the chicken lays another batch of eggs, and the incubator brings the egg to hatching) -- more chicks per hen.

But drive a little farther and you'll find the real gateway -- for this is where we were introduced  to a Sonoma wine by Magito Winery, led by Tom Meadowcroft.

Then the big idea is to get over to Sonoma and sip your way past the fancy wineries...   with a memory of www.magitowines.com on the tongue.
