Nothing really compares to a holiday in Florida. Even when compared to other states and parts of the United States it’s easy to see that Florida really has its own unique culture and feel. On a holiday to Florida there is so much to see and do, it can often be difficult finding the time to fit it all in. One of the most interesting of all the attractions Florida has to offer, is its world famous range of theme parks.

Of all the various different theme parks in Florida (and there are a lot), probably the most famous of all of these is Universal Studios. Universal Studios - for those not in the know - is a movie studio based theme park featuring world famous exciting ride, 3d shows, animations and the chance to see live movie sets in action. Some of the most popular rides at the theme park include Terminator 2 which presents the visitor with a 3d battle across time, a back to the future ride and an Earthquake ride.

For those with kids - or just those young at heart - Universal Studios really is an ideal day out for the whole family. With ‘more excitement per square foot that anywhere else’, those planning an action-packed, adventurous trip to Florida can’t go wrong when visiting Universal Studios.

Of course, Universal Studios although one of the most famous adventure parks in Florida, isn’t the only theme park to visit. Another popular attraction - although not technically a theme park - is the Kennedy Space Centre.

The Kennedy Space Centre is one of America’s biggest space exploration hubs and during its time has seen hundreds if not thousands of astronaughts begin their missions into space. Open year round the space centre is ideal for visiting on a holiday to Florida, its huge number of presentations, displays and tours of America’s past and present space programme mean it’s very easy to spend a full day wandering around the exhibition.

Some of the most popular displays include a full size (363 foot) Apollo/Saturn V Rocket as well as the stimulated rocket launch which can be experienced in the firing room theatre.

Another of Florida’s impressive attractions is the Florida Aquarium in Tampa, which is a must see destination on any trip to Florida. So popular is the aquarium, it was ranked by Parents Magazine as one of the top 5 kid friendly aquariums to visit in the United States.

The Tampa aquarium boasts more than 200,000 square feet of excitement for everyone to enjoy and contains more than 20,000aquatic plants, fish and animals from all around the world, although a particular focus is placed on those naturally from Florida.

Finally, for those planning holidays in Florida during the spring, the Florida Strawberry festival is one festival you can’t afford to miss on your vacation there. It may seem quite an unusually attraction or indeed a fair to visit, but the Strawberry Festival has been voted one of the top 50 fair in the United States time and time again.

Regardless of which attractions and sites you chose to visit on a holiday in Florida, you can be sure there is plenty to do and keep you entertained there and no doubt you’ll be left wanting to come back next year to experience more of what the Sunshine State has to offer.
