When in Brazil, take time to visit one of the most efficient cities in the Americas.
The Efficient City of Curitiba
I've learned a lot about this city from my students from Brazil. The bus system is especially interesting to ride -- clean, many buses per hour, and aesthetically pleasing. The stations are enclosed so in rain you're protected. It is fun to imagine riding in a bus that is an effective part of the transportation network.
