Who buy gold bullion who are the gold players

Investor… Trader… Speculator….  we hear the terms all the time.   We often use them interchangeably but in truth, these are players in three very different investment games.

Gold Investors

The gold Investor has four major characteristics…

·         Long Term Orientation - The gold Investor will buy gold bullion on a regular baisis whatever the spot price. He is motivated by a belief that, over time, ownership of gold will be financially beneficial.  The Investor is usually committed to the investment for the long–term.

·         Ownership – The gold Investor is usually personally committed to the investment and will, if possible, be active in supporting it.  The gold Investor will consider not just the asset trading value but also the potential returns from dividends and other long-term benefits of ownership.

·         Knowledge – The gold Investor will often study and research both the industry and the specific investment in depth before implementing an investment decision.

·         Persistence – The gold Investor will usually not make buy or sell decisions based on short-term market fluctuations.  The true investor will Buy gold bullion based on long-term promise and will seldom Sell because of short-term declines.

In summary, the gold Investor is looking for long-term benefits of ownership.

 Gold Trader

The gold Trader also has four major characteristics…

  • Short Term Orientation – the gold Trader is primarily interested short-term gain.  As a result, a Trader may Sell an investment literally minutes after Buying it, if it is profitable to do so.
  • Ownership Indifference – the gold Trader has little interest in gold bullion ownership.  The Trader is interested primarily in the Trade.  If it is profitable to Sell, the Trader will sell… if it is not profitable to Sell, the Trader will hold, unless selling at a loss will free up funds for a more profitable trade.
  • Knowledge – the successful gold Trader must be well informed about the factors and relationships that impact the value of existing and potential investments. While the Trader may know little about the details of a gold mining stock, the Trader will understand that a bloody revolution in the Middle East will probably drive up gold prices, and that will, in turn, drive up the price of the mining company stock.
  • Sensitivity – the gold Trader lives in a world where minutes… even seconds… can make all the difference.  The Trader must be well informed with timely information and must be prepared to make major decisions, almost instantly.

In summary, the gold Trader is looking for very short-term profit opportunities.

Gold Speculator

The gold Speculator also has four primary characteristics:

  • “Big Hit” Orientation – the primary motivation of the gold Speculator is the “Big Hit’… that is, a large, one-time profit.  Speculators are seldom attracted to modest, low-risk investments.
  • Willingness to Loose – the gold Speculator recognizes that large profits usually entail large risks.  As a result, most Speculators recognize that many of their ventures will fail.  However, the potential return on the occasional success justifies the losses… these losses are simply considered to be a “cost of doing business”.
  • Short Term Orientation – the gold Speculator is primarily interested in large, short-term gain.
  • Knowledge – the gold Speculator makes “deals” based on a body of knowledge that convinces the Speculator that the deal will be extremely profitable… usually in the short-term.  This knowledge may be based on information that is not generally available or it may be based on an unconventional interpretation of available information.

In summary, the gold Speculator is looking for the occasional, “big hit” deal.

Of course, nothing about gold investing is simple and the label that applies to any player… investor, trader, speculator… can change with a single transaction.

What Makes Holidays in Florida So Amazing

Nothing really compares to a holiday in Florida. Even when compared to other states and parts of the United States it’s easy to see that Florida really has its own unique culture and feel. On a holiday to Florida there is so much to see and do, it can often be difficult finding the time to fit it all in. One of the most interesting of all the attractions Florida has to offer, is its world famous range of theme parks.

Of all the various different theme parks in Florida (and there are a lot), probably the most famous of all of these is Universal Studios. Universal Studios - for those not in the know - is a movie studio based theme park featuring world famous exciting ride, 3d shows, animations and the chance to see live movie sets in action. Some of the most popular rides at the theme park include Terminator 2 which presents the visitor with a 3d battle across time, a back to the future ride and an Earthquake ride.

For those with kids - or just those young at heart - Universal Studios really is an ideal day out for the whole family. With ‘more excitement per square foot that anywhere else’, those planning an action-packed, adventurous trip to Florida can’t go wrong when visiting Universal Studios.

Of course, Universal Studios although one of the most famous adventure parks in Florida, isn’t the only theme park to visit. Another popular attraction - although not technically a theme park - is the Kennedy Space Centre.

The Kennedy Space Centre is one of America’s biggest space exploration hubs and during its time has seen hundreds if not thousands of astronaughts begin their missions into space. Open year round the space centre is ideal for visiting on a holiday to Florida, its huge number of presentations, displays and tours of America’s past and present space programme mean it’s very easy to spend a full day wandering around the exhibition.

Some of the most popular displays include a full size (363 foot) Apollo/Saturn V Rocket as well as the stimulated rocket launch which can be experienced in the firing room theatre.

Another of Florida’s impressive attractions is the Florida Aquarium in Tampa, which is a must see destination on any trip to Florida. So popular is the aquarium, it was ranked by Parents Magazine as one of the top 5 kid friendly aquariums to visit in the United States.

The Tampa aquarium boasts more than 200,000 square feet of excitement for everyone to enjoy and contains more than 20,000aquatic plants, fish and animals from all around the world, although a particular focus is placed on those naturally from Florida.

Finally, for those planning holidays in Florida during the spring, the Florida Strawberry festival is one festival you can’t afford to miss on your vacation there. It may seem quite an unusually attraction or indeed a fair to visit, but the Strawberry Festival has been voted one of the top 50 fair in the United States time and time again.

Regardless of which attractions and sites you chose to visit on a holiday in Florida, you can be sure there is plenty to do and keep you entertained there and no doubt you’ll be left wanting to come back next year to experience more of what the Sunshine State has to offer.

Sebastopol -- gateway to Sonoma

Well, some people want you to think of it as a gateway.  It's in the next valley and near industrial areas.  It's also where I tasted some terrific wine created by one of my school mates.... Tom Meadowcroft of Magito Wines

Santa Barbara -- when in town, get the local paper

Find the local angles -- get the local paper.

Golden Gate Bridge, gateway to Northern California

Yes, the bridge is truly a gateway

Seattle -- What's the weather like?

Surprise, surprise!  Seattle does not rain heavily (as shown in the TV series Frazier)...
